BundlePress Customization & Analytics: How to Style, Measure & Optimize Your WooCommerce Product Bundles

Creating effective product bundles in WooCommerce is not just about the bundle type and pricing logic — it’s equally about how those bundles look and perform. A well-configured bundle displayed in a style that clashes with your theme, uses default placeholder text, or presents products in an unflattering layout will underperform regardless of how compelling the underlying offer is.

BundlePress’s Customization dashboard and Analytics system provide the tools to make every bundle look premium and on-brand — and to measure which bundles are driving the most revenue. This article covers the complete Customization suite, Analytics dashboard, and the advanced conditional logic system available in BundlePress Pro.

BundlePress Customization Dashboard Overview

The BundlePress Customization dashboard (accessible from BundlePress → Customization) is a centralized control center for the visual appearance of all bundle widgets across your store. It uses a clean, accordion-based layout (introduced in v1.3.0) that groups related settings into collapsible sections for efficient navigation.

The Customization dashboard has two scopes:

  • Global Customization (Pro): Settings saved here apply to all bundles of each type across the entire store. Change the button color once and all Fixed Bundles update immediately.
  • Per-Bundle Override (Pro): Individual bundles can override specific global settings with their own style — allowing a special Black Friday bundle to use different colors without affecting all other bundles.

Global Theme Styles & Color Configuration

The Global Customization suite allows configuring visual properties for each bundle type independently. Customizable properties include:

Customization Category Settings Available
Button Styling Background color • Text color • Hover colors • Border radius
Badge Styling Discount badge color • Popular badge color • Badge text color • Custom badge text
Price Display Sale price color • Regular price (strikethrough) color • “You Save” color
Layout List vs Grid • Column count (2, 3, 4 in Pro) • Product card spacing
Text Labels All frontend text (“Add to Cart”, “Total”, “You Save”, section titles) — full localization support
Volume-Specific Popular badge text/color • Default tier selection • Custom tier badge labels • Tier card border
BXGY-Specific Deal headline text • “FREE” badge text and color • Gift product label text

Frontend Label Localization & Text Customization

BundlePress v1.3.2 implemented full localization of all frontend labels and badges across all bundle types via the Customization API. This means no static text is hardcoded in any bundle widget’s frontend output — every piece of text the customer sees is configurable from the Customization dashboard.

This has two important implications:

  • Brand voice: Replace generic labels like “Add to Cart” with your brand’s language (“Add Bundle”, “Buy Now”, “Get This Set”)
  • Multilingual stores: For stores in non-English languages, all frontend bundle text can be configured in the store’s language without requiring plugin translation files. French, German, Spanish, Japanese — any language can be configured through the Customization dashboard.

Layout Styles: List vs Grid & Column Count

BundlePress supports two primary display layouts for bundle widgets:

≡ List Layout

Products displayed vertically in a single column with full-width product rows. Default for Fixed, BXGY, FBT, and Mix & Match bundles. Works well for detailed product information and when each product needs prominent display.

■■ Grid Layout

Products displayed in a multi-column grid. Default for Volume Pricing bundles. Ideal for visually comparing multiple options side-by-side. Pro: 2, 3, or 4 columns configurable.

Database persistence: Layout preferences (List, Grid) and grid column settings are stored in the database per-bundle (introduced in v1.3.9). Preferences survive page reloads and are respected across sessions — no transient or session-dependent storage.

Free version: List layout for all bundle types, maximum 2 columns for Grid layout. BundlePress Pro unlocks unlimited Grid column configuration (up to 4 per row) and the ability to switch any bundle type between List and Grid independently.

Live Preview System

BundlePress v1.3.9 introduced interactive live previewing in both the Customization suite and the individual Bundle Builder. When you change any visual setting — button color, layout style, column count, badge text — the preview updates in real-time without saving or refreshing. This allows:

  • Testing different layout configurations before committing
  • Previewing how color changes look on the actual bundle widget
  • Experimenting with Grid vs List layout to see which presents your products better
  • Reviewing how Volume tier cards look with different Popular badge colors and default selections

CSS parity between the frontend PHP-rendered bundle widgets and the Customization dashboard React-based preview is precisely maintained — what you see in the preview is exactly what customers see on the product page (improved in v1.4.3).

Per-Bundle Style Overrides (Pro)

BundlePress Pro allows individual bundles to override specific global customization settings with their own values. This is useful when:

  • A seasonal promotional bundle needs different colors (e.g., Christmas red/green vs your store’s standard blue)
  • A specific product category has different brand guidelines requiring different widget styling
  • You want to A/B test different visual presentations for the same bundle type
  • A premium product page warrants a more elaborate display than standard products

Per-bundle overrides are configured in the individual bundle editor — the same interface used to configure the bundle’s products and pricing. When a per-bundle override is set, it takes precedence over the global customization setting for that specific bundle only. All other bundles continue using the global setting.

BundlePress Analytics Dashboard

The BundlePress Analytics section (accessible from BundlePress → Analytics) provides performance tracking for your bundle strategy. The Analytics dashboard tracks:

📈 Bundle Revenue

Total revenue attributed to each bundle — which bundles are driving the most income and which are underperforming.

🛒 Add-to-Cart Events

How many times each bundle’s “Add Bundle to Cart” button was clicked — measuring engagement vs conversion.

📋 Conversions

Order completions with bundle items included — actual sales tracked per bundle ID.

💵 Average Order Value

AOV impact of bundle purchases vs non-bundle purchases — quantifying the bundle strategy’s AOV uplift.

Analytics data is stored in a dedicated wp_bundlepress_analytics database table for performance. The Analytics dashboard provides a reporting interface that surfaces this data with filtering by date range and bundle type.

The Analytics dashboard helps answer critical business questions: Which bundle type generates the most revenue — Fixed Bundles or Volume Pricing? Which specific bundle on the Laptop product page is driving more incremental revenue? Are FBT bundles being clicked but not converting? These insights enable data-driven bundle strategy decisions.

Advanced Conditional Logic (Pro)

BundlePress Pro includes Advanced Conditional Logic — rules that control whether a specific bundle is shown or hidden based on contextual conditions:

  • Cart Total: Show a bundle only when the cart reaches a minimum value (e.g., “Bundle offer unlocks at $50 in cart”)
  • User Role: Display different bundles to Wholesale customers vs Retail customers vs Guest visitors
  • Geolocation: Show region-specific bundles (e.g., a bundle available only in the US that includes a US-only product)
  • Date/Time: Schedule seasonal bundles to appear and disappear automatically (e.g., Christmas gift bundles from Nov 1 to Dec 31)

Conditional Logic rules can be combined — for example, show a bundle only to Wholesale users in the EU with a cart total over $200 between Q4 dates. This granularity enables highly targeted bundle offers without manual activation/deactivation.

WooCommerce HPOS Compatibility

BundlePress declares full compatibility with WooCommerce’s High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) — the custom order tables system that is increasingly the default in newer WooCommerce installations. This compatibility is declared at plugin initialization, meaning BundlePress works correctly regardless of whether HPOS is enabled or disabled on your WooCommerce store.

HPOS compatibility ensures that bundle order data — which products were in a bundle order, which bundle triggered the purchase, analytics event tracking — is correctly handled in both the traditional posts-based order storage and the modern custom order tables storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will customization changes affect all bundles of a type at once?

Yes — global customization changes in the BundlePress Customization dashboard affect all bundles of the configured type. If you change the Fixed Bundle button color from blue to green, all Fixed Bundles on your store will display the green button. This is the advantage of global customization — brand consistency updates across the entire store in one change. Per-bundle overrides (Pro) allow exceptions to this global rule for specific bundles that need different styling.

Is the Analytics dashboard available in the free version?

The full Analytics dashboard with detailed revenue reporting, add-to-cart tracking, and conversion data is a BundlePress Pro feature. Basic event tracking infrastructure exists in the free version (for future Pro analytics access), but the detailed reporting dashboard and revenue attribution are Pro-exclusive. Upgrading to Pro retroactively makes the tracked data visible in the Analytics dashboard.

Can I use Conditional Logic to show different bundles to different user roles?

Yes. BundlePress Pro’s Conditional Logic supports user role targeting — allowing different bundles to display to Administrators, Customers, Subscribers, Wholesale Buyers (if using a wholesale plugin), and Guest visitors. A common use case is showing larger volume discount tiers to wholesale customers while showing standard retail bundles to regular customers — completely automated based on the logged-in user’s role.
